Reader I don’t know about you, but the holidays always arrive amid a wealth of memories. I remember anticipating the contents of those gifts under the tree. Imagining the contents was nearly as exciting as revealing the prize. I couldn’t wait to call my bestie to review our hauls. The older we get, the less this happens. That’s when it’s necessary to gift ourselves with secret indulgences. I’m not sure what my friend gave herself this year, but I went a little crazy loading my Kindle with a new (to me) book series. The Curvy Girl series by Kelsie Stelting is my new saccharine. I haven’t immersed myself in reading for so long that the guilt I feel is kind of overwhelming. Shouldn’t I be writing my own bestselling stories? Well, I am. Just not the way I‘ve done in the past. I've been busy; I’m a writer for these publications on Medium: Middle Pause, Daily Cuppa, and Lady With the Cane. The great thing about this writing platform is that YOU can also PUBLISH there. You should check out my Medium stories HERE. I do have a list of 2024 writing intentions: ✔️ I plan to revitalize Abby, my first published work. ✔️ I want to finish a little thing called Sunflower Sisters. It was my 2023 NaNoWriMo project. ✔️ My Church of Go series could be embracing a new addition about childhood friends Sam (Sampson) and Lilah (Delilah). This could be my first ever YA romance. ✔️ My current WIP is a MG series based on individual minor characters from previously published novels. This one is my favorite. June 2024 www.ladywiththecane.com If you are June-born, you might know the dragonfly is your spirit animal. June is also Accordion Awareness Month. The gemstone is the pearl. The June flower is the rose AND the name of the main character in my book Praise Petals. Paise Petals was published in 2021 by Headline Books. This is my favorite story and the second installment in a growing faith-based YA/MG series. High School sophomore, Rose Hicks, tolerates her limited social life as long as her...
